International Women’s Day

On the 8th of March, all around the world, people join hands to celebrate International Women’s Day. One might wonder why it’s important to celebrate the women in our lives. This day helps us focus on important issues like women empowerment and gender equality. Even in the 21st century, we do not have a gender equal society. Women face multiple kinds of discrimination and the pay gap is a yawning abyss. In many countries, women still suffer disproportionately from poverty, lack of education, and lack of access to health-care. This International Women’s Day, we would like to celebrate the young women amongst our beneficiaries and reflect on the talent and potential in these young minds to change the world.

Wishes and Blessings realizes that empowering and educating young women implies empowering her family as well. The NGO works towards aiding the underprivileged. All aid and support is provided to ensure that the poor can escape the cycle of poverty. The immediate need is of educating young minds as education is key to forming a solid base for a stable future. What is equally important is making sure that their nutritional needs are met, ensuring optimum levels of physical development and a strong immune system. Many of our girls are dedicated to their academics and work hard to excel in their classes.
