History of Children’s Day- 14th November<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Children\u2019s day or Bal Diwas is a memorable day celebrated in honour of India\u2019s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru \u2013 who was known to have been very fond of children. He was known as \u2018Chacha Nehru\u2019 amongst the children due to his caring and nurturing personality. Children\u2019s Day is celebrated all across India on the 14th of November to spread awareness about the right to education and the welfare of children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Out of a population of 140 crores that India holds, about 25% of the population is illiterate and have been denied their right to be educated. These children deserve to smile brightly and gain knowledge to fulfil their dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, I got the opportunity to visit Modi Mills and interact with children learning at the centre of Wishes & Blessings and it was amazing to see them smiling and full of excitement to learn! I believe that we are very lucky to be receiving good education and the least we can do for the upliftment of the society is to donate and help NGOs in their work. We should also hold workshops to share our knowledge with children. By doing such things, underprivileged people can gain a wide span of knowledge and we can also contribute towards their brighter futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe that it is nearly impossible to solve all the problems at once- but it is never too late to start working towards solving the problem by taking one step at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why don\u2019t we celebrate this Children\u2019s Day by spreading awareness about children\u2019s right to education and welfare and play our part in giving back to society? Let\u2019s all try to visit NGOs, donate things and spread awareness on their causes so that together we can make it a better world!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children are the purest souls, they make our lives a little bit easy, they teach us the meaning of purity, unconditional love, and kindness. When I visited Modi Mills Day Care Centre (one of the centres of Wishes and Blessings) I felt so overwhelmed, my eyes were full of tears and my heart was so heavy while seeing the amazing smiles. I have also learnt how to be grateful. Owing to the work done by organisations like Wishes and Blessings, we are able to bring change in the lives of others. Thank you for providing us with this opportunity<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a member of Wishes and Blessings, I had several opportunities to interact with the children with whom the organisation works. It\u2019s a joy to see how enthusiastic each child is about all of the activities we do. The organisation has organised a variety of enjoyable activities for children, including a canvas painting workshop, bookmark-making workshop, dance workshop, and many others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kids always look forward to such workshops and activities, and they always thank us for assisting them with the activities. They express enthusiasm and interest in such workshops. I look forward to more such workshops and even assisting them with teaching. I can truly say that with the help of the government, who formulates all schemes and NGOs, that do the groundwork and engage with children, the condition of children in our country is getting better!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My visit to Coolie Camp and Modi Mills and interacting with so many children was a surreal experience. Loved to see how each and every kid had the eagerness to learn even little things. Their smiles made my day to be honest! Even though they are deprived of so many things, but still so happy about what they have been provided by the  Almighty. I got so much to learn that day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always grateful to Wishes and Blessings for giving me this wonderful opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve always wanted to provide something to society, and children have always been my top priority.  Wishes and Blessings<\/a> provided me with a platform to gracefully work and provide for children. The children were amazing, loving, talented, kind, and polite. I admired their flare, their spirit, and their innocence.
