Wishes and Blessings Covid Relief Project

Wishes and Blessings launched their Covid Relief Project on Day 1 of the nationwide lockdown i.e. 25th March 2020. Through this multi-phased initiative, the NGO provided essential aid to vulnerable people and marginalized communities all through 2020-2021 in 8 states across India.

In the wake of the third wave of the ongoing pandemic, Wishes and Blessings re-launched its Covid relief efforts in January 2022. Under Phase VI, we are focussing on 2 major aspects:

1.Vaccination Drive

2. Ration Relief Campaign: “Dabba Bhara Hai”

VACCINATION DRIVE

Under this initiative, we are closely working with renowned medical facility providers/hospitals to organise free of cost vaccination camps for underprivileged and marginalised people. Having experienced resistance amongst the beneficiaries while organising these camps, we are also continuously involved in awareness building activities concerning the Covid-19 vaccines.

RATION RELIEF: Dabba Bhara Hai Campaign

1. What is the “Dabba Bhara Hai”?

“Dabba Bhara Hai” is our new initiative under which we are striving to ensure that even though the times are extremely tough for the underprivileged; they must not be left devoid of food resources. In the initial phase of the campaign, we are making available ration and hygiene kits to over 600 vulnerable families in 3 states across India. The support will be further extended according to the need on the ground.

1.What are the contents of these ration and hygiene kits?

Each ration kit is sufficient to fulfil the needs of a family of 5 members for 2 weeks, and contains the following items:

  • Rice
  • Aata (flour)
  • Pulses
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Soya
  • Spices
  • Sugar
  • Soap
  • Masks, etc.

The quantity of each kit varies according to the geographical locations and requirements of our beneficiaries.

1. Which are the states and demographics which are being covered under this campaign?

In the initial stage of the campaign, we are providing relief to the at-risk families in Delhi/NCR, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. The people whom we will be reaching out to are the destitute, vulnerable and marginalized; including Commercial Sex Workers (CSW), transgender community, people with physical disabilities, and old and abandoned people.

1. How will I ensure that the money I donate will be used for this project?

As part of our promise to stay true to our values of being transparent and accountable, a formal project report will be shared at the end of the campaign on our website. Please be ensured that the entirety of your support will be utilised to directly aid those affected by the lockdown.
