Launched in May 2018, the Wishes and Blessings Donation Box Programme (DBP) is a unique initiative to give small scale organisations the opportunity to make a difference in society. The idea behind this project is to raise funds as well as awareness for causes that need immediate attention.
Organisations on board have complete control over the disbursement of money collected via the donation box. Partners have the option to choose to either donate the money as untied aid or support any of our causes like education, daily meals, elder care etc. Through this partnership, we have been able to build a long term association with our F&B partners who have also contributed food items during events held at our centres. Our USP is customisation and we also design bespoke projects if the partner on board wishes to support any other focus area.
In a short span of time, we have managed to set up over 50 donation boxes across Delhi/NCR. As easy as it sounds, setting up these boxes is a different kind of challenge in itself. While some people would readily agree, others would be hesitant because they are suspicious of NGOs in general. There are also some who would not even agree to an interaction simply because they were not interested.
As an NGO, we always wondered why some people are hesitant to host a box. It’s just an 8×8 box being used to spread awareness, create visibility and generate a few funds for causes which need immediate support. The organisations who have been a part of the Donation Box Programme have been extremely supportive and generous. They have helped us not just by hosting our box but also sponsoring treats and events at our centres for our beneficiaries. Many of our partners say that the happiness they receive on seeing the smiles of underprivileged people is incomparable!
Many donors who are associated with us share pictures of the box when they spot it at our partner organisations and feel proud when they see a Wishes and Blessings Donation Box.
Once the box is emptied, a fund utilisation report is shared with a video showcasing the impact created in the lives of our beneficiaries. Partners are also given recognition on our social media!
While the journey hasn’t been easy, we have received great support and we have been able to raise funds and support causes like elderly care, providing food for our beneficiaries as well as buying education supplies for underprivileged children.
