Monika Phore, Volunteer Coordinator, has had a variety of experiences in the social sector. She believes that the most important way to bring about change is education. Read on for how she thinks this can bring about effective and sustainable change!
Education is a weapon to improve one’s life. It is the most important tool to change one’s life. Benjamin Franklin beautifully asserts the importance of education when he says that knowledge pays the best interest and to be successful in life what we all need is education. Education plays a pivotal role in everyone’s life; It equips us with certain skills that help us navigate our way in the world.
However, not everyone is privileged enough to get this profound opportunity in their life. 337 million illiterate people in India are proof of the fact that access to education has remained a distant dream for a significant part of the country’s population. Children and especially girls, born in underprivileged families have little access to educational opportunities.
Wishes and Blessings understands the vital importance of education in a person’s life. Universalization of education is one of the primary missions of our organization. In order to embark on the journey towards this mission, we have initiated a programme called ‘Sponsor a Childhood’. Our main agenda under this flagship project is to ensure that every child is given an equal opportunity to learn and grow by making quality education accessible to them. We work with children from a variety of backgrounds, with the intent to empower them with knowledge until they can support themselves.
We all should understand that good education will only benefit the world. Education enables individuals to express their views efficiently. Education is a ray of light in the darkness. Changing the world is a daunting task, but together we can change the world of at least one child today. Support us in our projects to further the cause of promoting quality education and making it accessible to all!
Monika loves to read in her spare time, and her favourite author is Marks Manson. If you don’t catch her reading, you might see her gorging on street food or napping
