Nidhi Visits Modi Mills Day Care Centre

These children, these naughty little children. They were in for a birthday treat and did all that it was in their capacity to make the birthday boy feel special. The kids were mature enough to make the guests feel at home. They danced, sang, made merry and even did a cartwheel to impress everyone. They challenged the donor who was all too overwhelmed that the kids would celebrate his birthday with such energy and vigour. It was all fun and games and they were provided with a special treat by Bhaiya.

It was my first visit to Modi Mills. I was there to observe and was stoked to see the kids join their hands in prayer before they began to dig into the scrumptious food. It all summed up my intention to join the Wishes and Blessings family and added meaning to my work. It reminded me of the very privilege some of us have that we might disregard as “basic needs” which in fact a section of our society, unfortunately, doesn’t receive. I was immediately bought back out of my reverie as one of them looked at me and asked my name with a huge smile. It certainly proved that there’s only one way to live life: as if everything is a blessing, even in disguise.
